Abstract
Í greininni er fjallað um nokkur sjálfsmatsmælitæki fyrir þunglyndiseinkenni fullorðinna sem til eru í íslenskri gerð. Það hefur gert erfitt um vik að velja þunglyndispróf til notkunar í rannsóknum og klínísku staríi að upplýsingar um rannsóknir á íslenskri gerð þeirra hafa ekki verið aðgengilegar. Úr þessu er reynt að bæta í þessari grein með því að draga saman á einn stað upplýsingar um þau sjálfsmatspróf fyrir fullorðna sem til eru á íslensku. Þessi tæki eru Þunglyndispróf Becks (Beck Depression Inventory-II, BDI-II), Þunglyndiskvarði til faraldsfræðirannsókna {Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, CES-D), Kvíða og Þunglyndiskvarði til notkunar á sjúkrahúsum (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, HADS) og Þunglyndis, Kvíða og Streitukvarðinn (Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales, DASS). Gerð er grein fyrir helstu einkennum mælitækjanna, rakið hvaða sálmælingalegar upplýsingar eru til um íslenska gerð þeirra og gefnar nokkrar ábendingar um notagildi þeirra hér á landi.
Considerable number of self-report measures of depression exist in the Icelandic language. However, information on the psychometric properties of these instruments is scarce and generally unavailable to Icelandic psychologists. Psychometric properties of the Icelandic versions of four self-report measures of depression for adults are reviewed in this article. These measures are the Beck Depression Inventory-II, the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scales. It was evident that even though quite solid information exists for these measures in student populations, information concerning their performance in other settings is in most cases too limited. It is concluded that there is a need for considerable more research on the validation of these instruments in other settings, such as among the general adult population or among different patient groups.
